My god. Waaaaaaaaaay better than the final version they have chosen for the movie. I can't belive why they didn't took this one! O.O It's way more logical, more dramatic and very much more watchable. I so hope that Paramount will put this scene on the BluRay! This Scene deserves to be shown!!!

Probably because in the movie version Kirk gets to die the hero instead of just being shot in the back. His final destiny was by his own choice, not Soren's. And it is fitting for Soren to be taken out by the missile he has been obsessing over for years.

A friend of mine came up with a better way to destroy the Enterprise D that could have utilised this death scene. Picard wrecks the Enterprise to get in the nexus to save Kirk by getting him into the nexus itself, result of a warp core breach (cumulative damage from the Klingons), stardrive blows up, Saucer section crashes, Kirk is saved for future usage.

just stop ur wrying kirk actually survived after supposly being burried, also where was the body?, why would they leave the ship there?, there was no recovery of them, it was all classified, kirk was saved by a unknown force, was later seen in the books so they could easily bring bk kirk

They shoulda had about half a dozen Klingnon warriors in there, and have kirk kick ass while dying.
