I didn't fhear anything in HTDAAB without thinkin' that they were kiddin me, nothing surprised me, they were just playin' what they already knew how to play. Pop was a true piece of art, the best anticipation bout consummation society's future i've ever seen, the answer to the reflexion developped in the zootv tour, human beings that would become controled constummers by the addicting power of tv. One of the best concept albums for me, maybe just behind L'homme à la tête de chou.

How does this one differ from the album version? I thought they only re-recorded this and other songs after the release of Pop. Apologies for my idiocy.

Man, I never noticed before... at around 4:00, the general shoots Bono this arrogant grin, like "yeah, we're Men, in this together us against them," and the band, in response, leaps over the barrier and goes to meet the light. Love it, what a message to send.

And then THE LIGHT turns out to be sweet old William Burroughs (author of Queer and Junkie and Naked Lunch) with a giant stage light in a supermarket trolley!!! There is an unused scene where they shake his hand then he draws a sword out of his walking cane (one of Burroughs's actual self defence canes). GENIUS!
